2012 vinyl split release on Aguirre Records pairing Tidal and Rambutan with Sounds of the Future / Trapdoor to Infinity. Two highly complimentary long form drones from tape scene regulars of the era. Each track stretching past the twenty-minute mark, both layer and evolve textures from minimal to what feels expansive and almost cosmic. Spiritual, forward-looking drift, dreamlike, the atmosphere is dense and grounded in tonal warmth. Together, the split works less as a contrast and more as a continuum—two perspectives on the same meditative state. A transportive release where listening gives way to non listening and contemplation of the human experience.
Edition of 150 heavyweight lp’s housed in a screen printed jacket with hand numbered screen printed insert. Physical copies go for reasonable prices on Discogs, or purchase the Tidal half digitally on Bandcamp. Despite best attempts I couldn’t find a digital version of the Rambutan half any old place.
